Chelsea and the German international are yet to agree a new contract and he is being touted as joining a host of new clubs in the summer when he becomes a free agent.
Nothing is over yet of course, but Chelsea have reportedly got a replacement lined up and Thomas Tuchel has convinced him to come to the club and replace Rudiger, according to El Nacional, as cited by Teamtalk.
The player in question is Barcelona star Ronald Araujo, who has now been linked with Chelsea on a number of occasions.
The 22-year old centre back plays for Barcelona and for the Uruguay national team, and he is apparently liked by Tuchel at Chelsea.
