Lost among the fresh injury news about Ben Chilwell and Reece James yesterday was an update on Timo Werner from Thomas Tuchel.
After going out injured at the same time as Romelu Lukaku back in October, the attacker came back and then caught Covid at the same time as Lukaku.

But while the Belgian is now back and playing again, Werner is not. His isolation period is over and his symptoms must be pretty bad.
Even worse, the longer he’s out now, the longer his return to match fitness will take.
The loss off players like Werner has hurt not only the options Thomas Tuchel has in choosing the most effective XI for each game, it also kills his ability to rotate.
Having Timo in the mix, able to play up top of on the wing, would create so much more flexibility for the rest of the squad. For now, we’re desperately missing it.
