Left wing back Marcos Alonso was one of the experienced players on the pitch and it was up to him to help mentor the youngsters and help them during the game, a role he enjoyed.
Alonso says he was impressed with all three academy players who played ‘an amazing game’ as he told the Chelsea website last night.
“With the young lads we played a very good game and I am very happy,” Alonso said.
“They had just two training sessions with us they were having a few days break and they played an amazing game for us. I was trying to help the young lads today it’s a pleasure to help them and help the team and I think they did great.”
