Chelsea could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to struggling Everton in the Premier League last night in a game where Chelsea should have been 4-0 up at half time.
Thomas Tuchel’s side have now turned in at least 6 poorer performances in the last string of matches and questions are deservedly beginning to be asked.

It’s certainly no time for excuses now even though Chelsea were hit with at least 4 Covid-19 cases before the game last night and were missing some key players. The starting Xl on that pitch were more than strong enough to win the game and they proved that in the first 45 minutes, except in front of goal where they were atrocious.
Tuchel once again after the game is talking about how they didn’t deserve to lose the game and they bossed it, which is true, but the fact is these excuses and this talk can no longer cut it. Chelsea need action and a reaction on the pitch. It’s not just about winning games now, it is about putting in consistently good performances in possession AND in front of goal.
Tuchel’s words here sound like groundhog day to me right now, we have heard this all before.
“I would be more concerned [about the blip] if we were totally out of form, conceding the first goal and then struggling to come back,” Tuchel said after the game as reported by Football London.
“I would be more concerned, although maybe it would be easier to analyse.
“I don’t think it’s so easy to analyse our situation. If you look at it, West Ham, I’ve seen teams have huge problems. [Our defeat] came, more or less, almost out of nothing, all three goals. Then you can continue.
“Against Leeds, everything was under control. We played a very good first half, a good 15 minutes, then we score and the game gets out of our hands. Today is a freak result for this kind of match. So where to start? Where to point the finger.
“I don’t think it’s too easy to analyse the situation. There are some facts we concede too many goals – which wasn’t the case today – that we give away too many leading positions. This is part of that but you can be sure we’re looking very honestly and very critically.
“For me, though, it’s not so easy to analyse why we’re dropping points. It was the same against Burnley at home. We did not deserve, the investment we do to get goals is so, so huge. I can’t say we don’t play without full effort, discipline and ambition. We do and especially in first halves and big periods of second halves.
“We get punished for not doing a lot wrong. It’s a bit awkward and strange to analyse.”
You absolutely can analyse it! You can start by looking at the obvious fact of why were have such poor collective finesse in front of goal!?
