Chelsea have been currently trying to sort out a compensation deal to bring Emerson Palmieri back to the club this month.
The Italian international is currently on loan at Lyon, who also have an option to buy him this summer, thus making the situation more difficult for Chelsea.

But they are trying to sort the move with a compensation fee of around 4 million euros, according to Fabrizio Romano.
He says that Lyon have rejected talks twice now but Chelsea are still trying. Interestingly, he mentions a plan b option instead if they cannot land Emerson.

Could that be Ian Maatsen being recalled from his loan with Coventry?
Sky Sports, as cited by Coventry Live this afternoon, claim that Chelsea are considering bringing Maatsen back from his loan move this month for cover.
It looks like the club are looking at all options and have some backup plans as well.
