Marca are today reporting that Barcelona are looking for a left back in this January window.
That could spell bad news for Chelsea, another top team in desperate need of a player in that position.
Their list of targets doesn’t seem to overlap with ours too much, as they’re willing to spend money (at least, Marca believe they are) and we’re not. Names like Alex Sandro, Nico Tagliafico and Alex Telles have come up in Chelsea rumours before, but right now we’re aiming a lot lower.
It’s all interlinked however, especially considering one of Barca’s options in that position is Sergino Dest, a player Chelsea have been linked to repeatedly as a loan option for the rest of this campaign.
The Blaugrana’s financial situation makes some of their targets seem pretty far fetched for a January move, but perhaps Chelsea swooping for Dest could free up some budget for them to make a move of their own.
