Chelsea had tried everything, and were eventually reduced to just putting the ball into the box in the final minutes of extra time.
Turns out, that’s quite a good was of putting pressure on. The ball broke to Cesar Azpilicueta, he took a shot which hit Palmeiras defender Luan’s hand.
It was very harsh, but so was the decision that gave the Brazilian side their equaliser, also for handball. Once the ref had given one from a VAR check, he really had to give the other.
It’s a shame that their impressive team had to lose like that.
