Thomas Tuchel is continually being asked about the situation outside of the actual matches his team are playing at the moment, so it’s always nice to have a football question pop up in the press conference.
At least there were some injury questions to distract some of the media today, and Tuchel gave a mixed update on his squad, which currently only has one serious absence but quite a few knocks.
He confirmed that both Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso would be fit to start tomorrow night, crucially. That restores a huge amount of strength to our weakest positions currently.
Thomas Tuchel:
"Marcos and Azpi is ready to start. We will try to have them [James + Hudson-Odoi] later in training, but it will a very, very tight race. We will take decision after training."

The flip side is two players who he didn’t rule out – but effectively admitted he would be crazy to use due to their recent recoveries – Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Both of them sound like possibilities for this weekend though, where we will see a hopefully 99% fit squad ready for action.

Congratulation & wish you quick recovery for JAMES & CAPTAIN
