It’s finally happened Blues fans, the UK Government have approved the Chelsea takeover sale and Todd Boehly’s consortium can now officially take the reigns.
At the time of writing there has yet to be any official announcement from the club, but all the top UK news sources are reporting that the Government has approved the sale.
As reported by my colleague @Tom_Morgs the UK government have this morning announced they have issued a new licence for the sale of Chelsea. It's done! #cfc https://t.co/WFrkTekEt4

This is massive news for Chelsea and we can now expect the sanctions that were put upon the club under Roman Abramovich’s ownership to be lifted as soon as possible.
Yesterday the Premier League confirmed that they had approved Boehly’s consortium as the new owners and it was said then that the Government approval would soon come.
We believe that this is the final hurdle in the process and we can finally breathe a sigh of relief with this process coming to an end after a long and very drawn out three months.
