After a few agonising weeks of paralysis earlier this month, the news on the Chelsea takeover is coming in waves now.
We got approval from the Premier League on Tuesday night, then approval from the UK government yesterday morning.
Today, the final piece of the administrative puzzle was put into place, with the news that the EU and Portugal (whose passport Abramovich holds) have also found no objection to the deal and have ratified it in its current form.
That means that everyone who could possibly raise a serious objection has been satisfied, and all that remains now is for the actual payment to take place.
No doubt that is a delicate and complex step, especially given the money will be going into government control, but hopefully this is exactly what was being organised in those quiet weeks, and we will see more movement soon.
