Chelsea ready to hold more talks with Azpilicueta as Barcelona keen

Following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers, the Blues could possibly be losing a third defender with Cesar Azpilicueta’s future remains uncertain.

The defenders contract was exercised for one-more year before the sanctions after playing a certain number of games, but his future still remains in the air, with strong interest from Barcelona.

Reliable journalist, Matt Law from the The Telegraph, cited by Absolute Chelsea, mentions Chelsea will hold more talks after his international duty with Spain.

Law then goes on to say Azpilicueta was preparing to say farewell but the departures of Rudiger and Christensen ‘complicated things’.

The report mentions Thomas Tuchel wants him to stay, but the club will allow him to leave if he expresses a preference.

I can personally see Azpilicueta’s time at Chelsea coming to an end this summer. The captain has won it all, and when Barcelona come calling it is hard to say no.
