Chelsea and Inter’s loan fee demands get closer together

As recently as a few days ago, Chelsea and Inter’s valuations of the deal to take Romelu Lukaku back to the Italian club this summer seemed irreconcilably far apart.

Despite the will from all parties to get the forward back to where he had been thriving, the Italian side’s lack of finances plus the monster fee Chelsea paid for the forward, has made it hard to understand how a deal might happen.

But the more we hear in detailed information about the move, the more it sounds like the sides are getting closer together.

Ben Jacobs’ latest report says that Chelsea want £15m for a year of Lukaku on loan, with inter hoping to pay less than €15m.

It’s a big gap – but it seems to get getting smaller every time we hear about it. Time is of the essence here, but as long as there is will on both sides – there is a way.
