Ben Jacobs of CBS Sport was pretty much a total unknown in terms of reporting on Chelsea as recently as February, but his top sources on several of the takeover bids have catapulted him into position as a trusted journalist on Blue matters.
If #Chelsea pulls this off – how good of a signing would Dembele be?🤔 pic.twitter.com/1cixBQbMyY

Like all good football journalists, now he’s leveraged that good reporting and those solid sources into writing vague transfer speculation for clicks, and his take on the rumours about a potential Ousmane Dembele move to Chelsea were interesting.
He claimed there is a “growing confidence” about a potential move for the free agent, the classic no-commitment cop out for all transfer gurus.
In this case, we do happen to believe them.
There is certainly a growing confidence, especially with PSG bringing in Campos, who isn’t as intent on signing him as Leonardo. Chelsea have made contact. One to watch next week. 👀

As we’ve written before, we’re torn over Dembele. He’s a huge risk, with well established injury problems and only sporadic moments showing his immense ability – but risks like that are exactly what free transfers are for.
