Football.London’s new business model seems to involve just employing various Chelsea fans to write their articles for them, and while that can mean some interesting takes, it can also mean some unrealistically hopeful ones.
Today’s effort has a look at the players Chelsea have to sale, and hopes that the club could raise £173m by selling them.
That’s not a totally unrealistic figure if you add up the potential fees for each of them, but the reality is that you can never sell all the players you want at the same time.
After a £100m summer last time around, we can’t expect anything remotely close this summer – although £100m or so certainly isn’t out of the question.
If we can shift Romelu Lukaku for £70m… maybe £173m isn’t as hopeful as we thought? Either way, it’s going to be a uniquely busy and fascinating transfer window, with plenty of action to report on.
