Jules Kounde to Chelsea is the transfer that seems like it has just been waiting to happen for a solid year now, and it pretty much has been.
Chelsea and Sevilla could not agree on a fee last summer, despite everything else in the deal pretty much being done and ready to go. This summer, they just need to agree a fee with Sevilla once again to get this over the line, but there are many more expectations this summer that it will actually get done and the defender could become Chelsea’s first summer signing.
Chelsea are looking at both Jude Bellingham and Jamal Musiala as options for 2023 pursuits.
With the window opening officially tomorrow, it might be a good time now for Chelsea to actually get their offer in!
Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest update on the situation today, and says Sevilla are waiting for Chelsea’s opening offer.
He also says that he believes the fee will be around £55m, which isn’t a bad price at all to be honest.
Jules Koundé deal, still priority for Chelsea. Tuchel wants him. Talks are well advanced on player side, while Sevilla are still waiting to receive the opening bid for the French centre back. 🔵 #CFC
Price tag will be around €65m, less than €80m release clause.
