The proposed return of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan has gone from rumour to fact extremely quickly.
Those involved are no longer hiding their intentions either, and today the Inter CEO Alessandro Antonello has been speaking openly about the striker’s desire to return, and the club’s desire to get that deal done.
Telelombardy cornered the executive at an event where he admitted it’s Lukaku’s “great wish” to return to the club where he was so successful for two years.

He admitted there were “technical problems” that must be solved, but ultimately sounded positive that the deal can be agreed in “the necessary time.”
Those financial hurdles and technical problems seemed pretty insurmountable not long ago, so we’re delighted to see progress is being made on that front.
Time is running out, but with everything in the open like this, things can move quickly too. It’s going to be an interesting couple of weeks.
