We’ve already reported on Marcos Alonso’s conversation with leading Spanish radio station Onda Cero, where he admitted he was keen to leave Chelsea this summer. But that does that all mean?
There have been whispers for a couple of years that Alonso has been ready to leave the club, and the last two summers in particular have seen steady and constant rumours about a return to La Liga or Serie A.
But Alonso himself has always remained rather coy, and with good reasons. As much as he might have wanted to go, he’s always ended up being an important player for Chelsea during the season in the end.
But these quotes mark a new stage in the saga, with the Spaniard becoming more open about his desires, clearly wanting to make sure a move happens this time around after a decent wait for it.
In the quotes he admits it “does not depend entirely on me,” but he also knows that his words can really influence the outcome.
