Ousmane Dembele has been linked so heavily to Chelsea in recent weeks that it’s seemed impossible he might stay at Barcelona.
But his most recent words on the matter – delivered through the window of a sports car, in typical footballer fashion – hint strongly that that could be the case.
Asked by a passing fan whether he was staying at Barca, the winger replied “yes.”

When pressed further about whether he would want to work with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel (credit to the random fan here for using a classic press conference technique), Dembele just replies “I’m fine in Barcelona.”
We’re not sure quite how much we should read into this. He’s smart enough to not shut off his options by making bold declarations when the time isn’t right.
He still has two weeks to run on his deal in Spain. Let’s see what he’s saying after that – it may be quite different.
