It’s the time of year when websites and newspapers are all pushing for an exclusive edge on transfer news here and there, and today ESPN have a nugget on the much talked about Raheem Sterling links to Chelsea.
Major sources including the BBC and Sky Sports went big on the news that Chelsea were interested in the winger yesterday, hinting at briefings from the club to their senior writers.
Today it’s ESPN’s turn, with their article claiming that Sterling himself is keen on a move, according to their sources. He knows this is likely to be the biggest contract he gets, wherever he signs.
With his contract running out at the end of the season, Man City are being pushed towards a sale, and Chelsea are clearly interested in buying him, if you believe their briefings.
If Sterling wants the move too, that means that all the parts should be in place for a rather rapid move back down to his hometown of London.
