Chelsea are reportedly now feeling confident on getting the Jules Kounde deal over the line.
It’s been a real saga, and actually, a saga that has been running for over a year now with Chelsea trying to sign the Sevilla defender last summer as well. Unfortunately that time The Blues did not match the fee being asked by Sevilla.
Sources: Nine centre backs that Thomas Tuchel has on his transfer short list.
But this time around, it looks like they have matched the fee that the Spanish club are asking for, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano at least. And he even has positive news on the contract terms, suggesting that personal terms are also no problem.
So why the wait? Well, Romano says Chelsea are just waiting on the green light for the deal from Sevilla, with Barcelona still hovering in the background as an interested club. But as Romano reports below, they have not made any offers for Kounde yet.
