Chelsea could have the fantasy summer of newspaper writers’ dreams

It’s that time of year where newspapers can gorge on tons of clicks with the easiest type of content of all “how X team could line up with Y players” – basically imagining all the rumoured moves come off, and then slotting them all into the team at once.

Except in the case of Chelsea this summer, it’s actually possible we do see a total overhaul like that.

The Blues have lost two of their first team central defenders, plus their number nine.

That’s not to even get started on the other potential sales that could be made.

The Evening Standard have imagined a team where Raphinha, Raheem Sterling, Matthijs de Ligt and Ousmane Dembele are all brought in and starting.

We wouldn’t imagine so much would be spent on THREE wingers, but it seems possible two are signed, especially if one of our existing options leaves.
