If you win the Champions League after just a few months in a job, you buy yourself almost infinite credit with the fans.
Thomas Tuchel didn’t just do that, he also showed repeatedly last season that he’s a top coach. But even the very best coaches sometimes do things that the fans disagree with, and the way the German coach is using his squad is not delighting large swathes of the Chelsea fanbase.
There are so many talented kids trying to break into our first team squad this season, and preseason seemed like the perfect chance for them. But two of them – Billy Gilmour and Armando Broja – are not going to get the chance.
They’ve both flown back to England from the US tour, presumably to secure moves away from the club. Neither had a sniff of action, and neither has really had the chance to impress Tuchel at all in person.
What are the odds we sign expensive, average players to fill their potential spaces in the squad?
I hoped that with new ownership there would be a long term plan for the integration of as many academy talents as possible. This doesn’t look promising. It’s so frustrating; why are they not getting the opportunity to prove themselves??? If this is coming from the manager, then we have a problem. This is not the future the fans want. Spend money wisely, and utilise the academy. The club mindset needs to change; if Tuchel can’t implement this change, then maybe he isn’t the right man. If he can, then all power to him.
Chelsea is crazy club they sent Gilmour and brought Nugeze and pay 6,million pound for loan fee &200000 salary per week . For a player did noting.
These youngsters will do well wherever they go and they are bought by big clubs. They will win trophies while we look. What’s the problem really at Chelsea. Thpught the new owners would bring a fresh breath of air but no, old habits die hard.
That’s the problem and they are still failing to learn from Declan Rice, he was sold and now they are failing to get him back because of how expensive he is, similar to Broja, they will soon be asking for his signature…just wait
