Chelsea wasting £500,000 a week on squad deadwood

Matt Law is one of the top writers covering Chelsea, and not only does he have good inside sources, he also has covered the club for long enough to have a strong overall picture of how things are going.

His piece on the club’s arrival in LA for their preseason tour points out some major issues with the composition of the group.

He says that they’re “heavy with B-listers”, which explains why the new owners have given serious thought to signing the megastar Cristiano Ronaldo types.

Then he gets into more detail about an even more pressing issue – the wage bill.

The group in LA is full of backups and deadwood, and as Law points out, they’re a massive drain on the club. BEtween Kepa Arrizabalaga, Malang Sarr, Kenedy, Ross Barkley and Michy Batshuayi, Chelsea are spending half a million pounds on wages every week.

That’s just crazy, and must be top priority to sort out for Todd Boehly and his guys.

  1. La directiva anterior era deficiente y solo la billetera de Abramovich la tapaba, inflaron los salarios ridículamente, deberían de aprender más de Liverpool o Bayern en ese sentido

  2. I’ve said this all last season
Sick of hearing about all these players chelsea are linked with and so far bought 1

  3. Sell them and buy a good defender, we don’t need Ronaldo at all.
