Sport are the publication who have started today’s rush over the Chelsea’s interest in Frenkie De Jong – but their article has other interesting notes in it.
As well as the rumoured interest in the midfielder – which we’re not entirely convinced by, by the way, there’s also apparently interest from us in Memphis Depay and Sergino Dest.
The former is a wide attacking player slash striker, and the latter a wing back who can play on both sides. We can well believe that Chelsea are interested in both those players, and also believe that Barca are willing to sell.
They need to raise funds, and those are two of their saleable assets. If we want them, we can definitely have them at the right price.
De Jong, on the other hand, is a player they want to keep hold of, and it would cost us crazy money to prise him away.
