The Blues are pulling away from the deal now and turning their attentions to other options. One of those, or more accurately, one that is the most viable, is Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries, according to The Evening Standard today.

The report claims that Chelsea are now switching focus to Dumfries after frustration in their bid to sign Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.
It’s been far from an ideal situation, and this move would likely see Reece James play more as a right centre back than Dumfries, which would be far from ideal in my view.
But Dumfries is a great player, even though I think this would be a very tough deal for Chelsea to try and pull off now.
