Chelsea officially confirmed the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly over night.
The defender signs on a four-year deal from Napoli, and there is an option to extend that by a further year. The fee is just under £34m.

It represents a massive signing for Chelsea and he is a player who can certainly be considered as an elite statement signing. He of course joins Raheem Sterling as being the second Men’s signing for Chelsea under the Todd Boehly era. These are absolute statement signings.
Koulibaly is buzzing to be at Chelsea, as you can see from the images of him alongside his national team mate, Edouard Mendy.
The former Napoli man says he is very happy to be at Chelsea and it is a dream for him to play in the Premier League.
He also confirmed that Chelsea tried to sign him in 2016 but didn’t get it over the line. Well, they have this time!
Koulibaly: “I’m very happy to be here with this team at Chelsea. It’s a big team in the world and my dream was always to play in the Premier League. Chelsea came first to get me in 2016 but we didn’t make it.“

Koulibaly: “I want to thank the fans because I saw a lot of them in London and on the plane everybody was happy for me to be here. So I want to thank them and I hope the season will be really good and we will give some good moments to the fans.â€
