Nathan Gissing of this website has just revealed that Raheem Sterling has left the UK on a private jet to join up with the Chelsea squad for preseason.
That follows on from his information yesterday that the Man City winger has completed the first part of his medical ahead of a transfer which looks like it will be confirmed in the next 24 hours – if not today.
Fabrizio Romano has Tweeted similarly that the winger “can be considered” a Chelsea player. After a week or so of intense rumours, the fee and contract are agreed.
The paperwork is signed, the medical done – it seems just a question of announcing the deal at the perfect moment for maximum social media exposure now.
The window which started so slowly is now starting to get up to speed, and we think this first signing could be very quickly followed by several more.
