Raheem Sterling will join Chelsea this week after agreeing personal terms with the club, it has been announced today.
A £45m agreement was already in place with Man City, and it’s just been a question of sorting out his new contract in West London.
According to the Telegraph’s piece on the impending move, Sterling will receive £300,000 a week, making him the club’s highest earning player now that Romelu Lukaku has gone to Inter on loan.

Usually bringing in a new top earner can disrupt the harmony at a club, but in the case of Sterling it’s hard to see anyone objecting. He’s got 4 Premier League titles and 77 England caps, apart from the true legends of this squad like Thiago Silva and the captain Cesar Azpilicueta, there aren’t many players in this current squad who can say they deserve a higher figure than the highly decorated Sterling.
That’s the logic, anyway…

Am so happy for that guy!
So happy he has left City. He can miss sitters for Chelsea instead. Lost us a champions League. If it’s not a tap in he usually misses
Good! am so happy for that guy
We have Timo who misses too many chances, why do we need another??
He is a scorer. His scoring average per game is one of the top 10. None of Chelsea FC scorers are close to him.
I am concern that he left my team and none of the defenders can chase him! What a mess Pep did.
Welcome to Chelsea
this Guy is a well decorated player
