Napoli are the latest team to express serious interest in Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Basque arrived for a world record fee in 2018 but lost his place to Edouard Mendy after a couple of error prone seasons. He’s since spent two seasons sitting on the bench, as part of a true horror transfer saga or Chelsea’s modern history.
His value is dropping with every passing season, and at this point it seems likely that Chelsea just want his significant wages off the books.
Those same wages have made him very difficult for the Blues to sell so far, and it’s hard to see even Napoli wanting to fork out good money – meaning Chelsea may have to subsidise the stopper’s cash flow.
The Daily Mail say he wants first team football, and perhaps his desire to actually play will force him to agree a lower wage than he is on now sitting on the bench at Chelsea.
