Thomas Tuchel “lukewarm” over two megastar signings

Thomas Tuchel is “lukewarm” about bringing Cristiano Ronaldo to Chelsea according to a story today by Nizaar Kinsella.

The new Evening Standard Chelsea correspondent has written that the prospect of signing the Manchester United winger isn’t particularly tempting for Tuchel, who apparently feels the same way about signing Neymar.

When cornered by a fan in LA at a signing session, the coach was very smiley and non-committal about a move for Ronaldo, but he was always going to be like that.

This reported apathy sounds much more likely to us than any real desire to upset the apple cart by bringing in an overpaid egotist to blow up the squad harmony.

Tuchel himself has said that this is a rebuild of the squad, and the right way to begin a rebuild is not by signing a 37 year old on record breaking wages to disrupt the foundations you’re trying to make for the future.

Not when we intend to rebuild. We do not need the influence of the have been. Let’s rebuild with raw material.

  4. I feel same as Tuchel. Give the Academy graduates a chance to prove themselves. And with some modest signings, we would be on a roller coaster!
