We had all but given up hope on Chelsea signing Raphinha from Leeds.
Our offer was accepted, the player was offered personal terms he would happily take. But there was a problem – the winger himself wanted to move to Barcelona, and the Catalan club were doing all they could to make Leeds an offer they would accept.
Still nothing agreed today between Barcelona and Leeds for Raphinha. Barca have tried to match Chelsea’s offer but it’s add-on heavy and instalment based. Big few days ahead with Leeds losing patience and Chelsea pushing for an answer from Raphinha.

Once Barca were able to free up some cash by selling off future TV rights, it seemed like game over for us. But according to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs today, that’s not quite true.
It seems that despite their cash injection, Barca are still struggling to make Leeds an acceptable offer, and the Whites are getting frustrated.
Chelsea’s money is on the table, and Leeds can simply point to it and say “match it.”
If Barca don’t, the Brazil star has the stark choice of coming to Chelsea – or staying put at Leeds, where he’s made it clear he doesn’t want to be.
