Chelsea are now “hugely credible” bidders for Frenkie de Jong, with two key factors helping their chase

We’ve heard a lot of chatter this week about Chelsea’s interest in Frenkie De Jong, and while we initially thought it was just leaks from Barcelona trying to force Man U’s hand into a bigger bid and a wage packet that would finally persuade the Dutchman to join, we’re now growing increasingly convinced that there is real interest from the Blues.

After the first wave of indications, we’ve now got big name journos joining the clamour to tell us all that it’s real. The Independent‘s Miguel Delaney’s piece today outlines some of the key details behind a bid he insists is “hugely credible.”

He points to two factors which might persuade De Jong – who has proved hugely resistant to leaving Barca despite their increasingly unsubtle attempts to force him out – that Chelsea are a better option that Man U, or staying put in Catalonia.

The big factor is the Champions League, something Chelsea can offer which Man U can’t. Then there’s the draw of London as a place to live.

  1. Espero su venida, signifique la salida de Gorgojinho, podría endulzar un poco este movimiento cambiando por alguien como D, Jonh que no ha tenido actividad regular y del cual dudo ya de su potencial en fin…
