Chelsea decide to ‘sanction’ move that could mean Wesley Fofana deal is close

Chelsea are currently in talks to sign Wesley Fofana from Leicester City.

At the moment, it seems there has been no fee agreed and Leicester seem pretty keen to keep hold of one of their best players, naturally.

Sources: 9 attackers on Chelsea’s shortlist to replace Timo Werner!

But Chelsea have been continuing with talks, and the latest developments with another Chelsea player could well mean that a deal is now close with Leicester.

It was believed that Chelsea were waiting to decide the future of Ethan Ampadu until they signed another defender. Ampadu plays on the right side of the defence, the same area that Fofana plays. And The Athletic have just released a report claiming that Chelsea have now sanctioned a season-long loan move for Ampadu and he will be leaving the club this window, perhaps opening up that space for Fofana now?

Of course, at this moment it doesn’t seem like Fofana to Chelsea is a done deal and there is still some work to do – but this certainly helps the move.

  1. We need a forward, Tuchel. Not more defenders. And he is a mile and a half away down the road at Fulham as I have been saying since you showed up. He put 2 past the scouse which is one more than your entire team managed at the weekend. Strewph. Football. Managers, who’d have’em.

  2. Ampadu a session? Que pasa? Es un pivote natural a menos que traigan a Rice, Ampadu no debería de estar en discusión
