Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel are on the hunt to sign a new striker before the transfer window shuts at the end of this month.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang looks to be the priority target there right now, but there is another striker a bit closer to home who the club are looking at in case they cannot sign Aubameyang, according to The Daily Mirror.
They claim that Chelsea and Everton have joined Manchester United in weighing up moves for Ivan Toney from Brentford.
The striker is reportedly on prospective target lists at all three clubs. The report reiterates though that Chelsea ’s No.1 target for the centre-forward role is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with Toney a backup option as of now.
It will be interesting to see what happens here and if Chelsea cannot agree a fee with the Barcelona striker, will they then make an offer for Toney? Many believe Toney would be a much better option, and I agree.
