Fabrizio Romano has today reported the exclusive news that Chelsea met with the agent of in-demand Red Bull Salzburg attacker Benjamin Sesko – the latest off their production line of talent.
Manchester United have been leading the race so far – certainly in the press – and Romano confirms that they’ve had “direct” (i.e. face to face) meetings with Sesko’s representatives as well.
Excl: Chelsea had meeting with the agent of Benjamin Šeško last week. Manchester United had more than one direct meeting – and there’s also another club in the race. ⚠️🇸🇰 #Sesko
The decision is up to the player in the next days, as RB Salzburg hope to keep him for one more year. pic.twitter.com/2Bwq2Sd9mm

It’s nice to see Chelsea linked with some attacking players, although we’re not sure how convinced we are by these particular links.
Until Chelsea manage to start shifting some of their unwanted attacking players, we can’t see them going too hard for Sesko, no matter his talent.
Overcrowding their squad with similar players only weakens their bargaining power, and given how little interest there’s been in the unwanted players like Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech so far, we have our doubts whether anyone other than Raheem Sterling will be added to the attacking line.
