Poor Conor Gallagher. This was supposed to be his season, but so far his start in the Chelsea senior team has been nothing short of horrible.
A short sub appearance was followed by a starring role in the disaster against Leeds last week, but even that was better than this week.
We had almost expected him to miss out this time around, as his partnership with Jorginho had been so heavily overrun, but he did play for the start again – although not for long.
The midfielder picked up two yellow cards in the first half, the second a really silly and unnecessary foul to stop a Leicester counter from a Chelsea corner.
Tuchel’s take on Gallagher didn’t pull any punches. The Chelsea boss said the midfielder “is responsible for what he did” and knows he made a “huge mistake.”

Tuchel did admit it was in part a team error, but he certainly wasn’t letting Gallagher off the hook.
With Mateo Kovacic back now, this may be the last we see of Gallagher for a while. He will be suspended for Tuesday’s game, and after that there’s no telling where his future lies.
