Chelsea want to profit on Hakim Ziyech despite two disappointing years

Chelsea are looking to sell Hakim Ziyech this summer after two years at the club, and according to the Metro, they want €44m for the winger.

That’s a big sum, and in fact it’s even bigger when you consider they paid €40m for him from Ajax two years ago.

So after two rather disappointing years, with the Dutchman now two years older and two years closer to the end of his contract, Chelsea want a profit?

That’s a tall order, even before you consider the fact that they’re selling him to a side from a lesser league who simply don’t spend that kind of money – even to get a player who did superbly well for them before.

Clearly Chelsea are hoping that the money Man United spent on Lisandro Martinez and Borussia Dortmund spent on Sebastian Haller trickles down in their direction, but we still can’t believe they’re really hoping to profit on the move.
