Leeds fans humiliate Edouard Mendy

Football is a cruel game at any level, and that’s never more true that in a derby game like this one, at the very top level.

Goalkeepers have it tougher than most, as their mistakes are the most harshly punished, as Edouard Mendy will tell you today.

His dreadful decision to try a turn in his own six yard box was punished by Leeds, who scored the opening goal, which was met with all sorts of glee from the stands.

It didn’t stop there.

As Liam Twomy pointed out, when Mendy came back out for the second half he was met by enormous ironic cheers from the home support.

That will have got under his skin, as will the jeers every time the ball comes to his feet now.

It’s unfortunate, but he will know he has only himself to blame after a mistake that’s probably cost us the game.

  1. Wasn’t just his mistake that cost the game. Leeds would have won it without that. Stop talking like a fool
