Chelsea are back in talks with West Ham over the transfer of Emerson Palmieri.
The left back appeared to be close to a move last week, with Chelsea keen to sell and West Ham keen to buy.
But well connected Hammers fan and Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg reported that the deal was off because of Emerson’s wage demands.
West Ham are cooling their interest in signing Emerson from Chelsea due to the left-back's personal terms #whufc

It all seemed rather a shame – the Italy international was coming perilously close to another loan or another season on the bench. West Ham would have been missing out on a sure starter for them too.
So we’re relieved to hear from the same source today that talks are back on, and hopefully this time a compromise will be found.
West Ham trying to revive the deal for Emerson. No agreement on a fee with Chelsea or personal terms yet.

It would be interesting to know which side of the negotiations has been willing to come back to the table to make this deal happen. Maybe Emerson’s hardball worked out after all?
