Trevoh Chalobah set for Chelsea stay despite Champions League interest

Trevoh Chalobah will be staying put at Chelsea this season, despite the imminent arrival of Wesley Fofana.

Fabrizio Romano has today reported that both Thomas Tuchel and owner Todd Boehly are aligned on keeping Chalobah at the club, despite conversations with Inter, AC Milan and RB Leipzig.

Clearly the club weighed it up and decided Chalobah was worth keeping, with so many games to play this season.

The defender made his first start of the season yesterday with Kalidou Koulibaly out suspended, and looked assured as always.

He had one mistake which could have cost his team as Jamie Vardy raced in behind, but the centre back was put in a difficult position against a lightening quick striker.

This is probably all connected to the news that Ethan Ampadu will be the one to leave, with a loan deal to Spezia close to being agreed after a successful loan in Italy with Venezia last season.
