Bad decisions followed by bad luck. That sums up Chelsea’s afternoon.
Firstly Edouard Mendy made a career level mistake to gift the home team a goal, and then the referee gave them a boost by handing the Whites a really soft free kick on the edge of Chelsea’s box.
Given what had just happened to Mendy, and given soft free kicks always seem to be scored, it felt inevitable that it was going on – and it did, via great header from Rodrigo Moreno.
