Graham Potter could be Chelsea manager for six months or ten years, depending on results. Either way, it feels like the next two weeks will be vital.
The coach has had a week to get his bearings and get to know the players, and now he has a two week period to really get to grips with them on the training pitch.
Of course a chunk of the first team are away on international duty, but Potter is still so new in the job that the group that remains to work with him will be more than enough to keep him busy.
The disappointing result in midweek can be written off – he never would have got his chance at Chelsea if the team had been playing well – but once we return from this break, expectation will be higher.
When we return to action on the 1st of October, fans will want to see the first hints of “Potter-ball” taking shape.
