Chelsea finally got the signing of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang over the line last night, but we had to wait a bit longer for the official announcement.
It finally came from the club well into the early hours of Friday morning after the deadline slammed shut. But Chelsea, have their new number 9 confirmed!
The former Arsenal and Barcelona striker had his first words printed on the website, as well as a neat little clip on the club’s YouTube channel, where he was appreciating the fit of the Chelsea shirt!
“I’m really happy,” Aubameyang said. “It’s an honour to be part of this team and I can’t wait to start. I have some unfinished business with the Premier League so it’s good to be back and really exciting.
“I’m feeling very good, I’m very proud. [The Chelsea shirt] fits me well! (laughs).”
