It was an up and down game for Armando Broja in his first start for Chelsea.
He had some really nice play with his back to goal holding the ball up, but in the end Chelsea weren’t able to really get the ball to him in places where he could hurt Brentford.
His performance was really summed up by his standout moment of the first half.
Released on the break, Broja was in a footrace with Ben Mee, who had a five yard headstart.
Broja ate up the ground and caught the defender, held him off and – didn’t pass to Mason Mount, who was in position to score. In the end the Albania international did actually play a great cross, but Kai Havertz was just inches away.
You’ve got to give him huge credit for getting in place to take the shot, but ultimately there’s no denying he missed the easy pass that would have almost guaranteed Chelsea the lead.
