Gareth Southgate keeping the World Cup door open for Chelsea man

The World Cup is now just right around the corner, with fans, players, and managers alike, starting to look forward to the biggest competition in world football.

Chelsea will have a heavy involvement as always, but there is one key England player who obviously has doubts hovering over him due to another recent and serious injury.

Reece James isn’t expected to play again for at least six weeks now, putting his World Cup in real doubt. However, The Daily Mail have run a report claiming that Gareth Southgate is leaving the World Cup door open for James.

James is set to be named in England’s provisional 55-man squad for the Qatar World Cup on Friday.

Obviously, James will not be used or go unless he has recovered, and I would not put it past him to recover sooner than he is expected to, that’s just the kind of guy he is.
