Chelsea had a real battle on their hands yesterday as they welcomed rivals Manchester United to Stamford Bridge.
The game ended in a 1-1 draw after late drama and a last-minute equaliser from United.
Chelsea have since been forced to issue an official statement after the game, as seen below, following United fans signing homophobic chants at Chelsea during the match.

It wasn’t a long statement, but it was to the point, a point that once again unfortunately needs to be made.
Chelsea also retweeted this below on their account regarding the incident:
2/2 It was however a disappointment to still hear some United fans singing the homophobic song aimed at Chelsea and their fans. We need to respect all football fans and we will continue to work to eradicate all forms of discrimination from our beautiful game.
