Brighton beat Arsenal 3-1 in the EFL Cup third round last night in what was an impressive result for them away from home.
Obviously in this competition it is a chance to see some of the young and fringe players in each squad, and both Arsenal and Brighton fielded ‘weaker’ lineups.
Sources: Chelsea to make new offer for Southampton midfielder in January!
At Brighton, it was a rare chance to see Chelsea loanee Levi Colwill grace the grass, and he certainly took his chance.
He played centre back and was absolutely colossal, barely putting a foot wrong and looking really solid at the back, defending, as well as in possession.
As you can see from these stats below, Colwill sent a strong message to Graham Potter and Chelsea to say that he’s ready to come back and ready to be in the Blues first team squad now and for the future.
Levi Colwill vs Arsenal:
• 94 touches
• 84% pass accuracy
• 12 clearances
• 9 duels won (most)
• 3 tackles (most)
• 7 recoveries
