Chelsea player ready to star for his country – despite difficulties with Blues fans

Chelsea fans aren’t loving Christian Pulisic at all these days.

His move hasn’t really worked out, and despite one nice flash of form, he doesn’t look cut out to be a Blue long term.

That doesn’t mean they don’t want him to play well when he is on the pitch though, and that goes for his games with the USA as much as Chelsea.

If nothing else, it gives him the chance to improving his prospects of a good move in January or next summer.

So we’re delighted to see Captain American back fit for his country’s World Cup second round game, just days after he took a nasty blow to the lower abdomen against Iran.

They face Holland at 3, and that’s a winnable game. From there, who knows what will happen? Even the fans who don’t like him would have to enjoy watching him go through.

Let’s go US!A!

  1. “That doesn’t mean they don’t want him to play well” has never been the problem, SuperFrank. It’s that Blues supporters for a very long time now have given him NO credit when he DOES play well! Exhibit A: As recently as a few days ago this website said NOTHING when he put his team through to the knockout phase of the World freaking Cup. Meanwhile, you guys are wasting time defending Mason Mount over the tiniest perceived slight. Does Mount have a goal and an assist on the world’s biggest stage? No? Then why are we talking about him? For goodness sake, just give credit where credit is due!

A Blue, any Blue, deserves better than how Pulisic has been treated by this site (and Blues supporters in general) purely as a matter of loyalty to the badge. So, don’t come around now with your “we don’t rate him but we wish him well” nonsense. It’s insulting because “wishing him well” completely misses the point. Just give every player a fair shake! If you’re going to moonlight as a pseudo-journalist then at least strive to be objective with every member of the squad you claim to love (no matter how much contempt you have for the excessive hype that follows that player around—which is not his fault anyway!).

Time and time and time again you make pronouncements like “doesn’t look cut out to be a Blue long term,” but fail to square it with the FACT that you’re talking about the player currently leading the club in offensive contributions (goals + assists) per 90 minutes. How can any self-respecting sports fan (let alone a Blues supporter who’s running a website called “Chelsea News”) put forward such assertions with so little (which is to say virtually zero) substantive analysis? It’s utter rubbish and would get laughed out of any bar or off any fan site on this side of the pond, lol. As I’ve said in this forum before, Pulisic (but, really, any player) deserves better and so do your readers.

I’m honestly about done wasting my “breath” in here. I go over to sites like “We Ain’t Got No History” and see something much more closely resembling an educated conversation by informed fans/journalists. “Chelsea News” pops up regularly in my news feed, but it increasingly feels like a waste of time and a bummer. 🙁

  2. I am telling you warrp earp chelsea news is the most biased chelsea fan site ever i have seen we aint got no history and they are deliver more educated feeds than this trash site i am a big fan of mason mount but i dont understand why this superfrank or whatever journalist is defending him we all know that pulisic have not been consistent at chelsea but so has mason mount been but this site always get behind mount but gets pulisic criticized unfairly which is the last thing you ever see at we aint got no history i am tired of this site
