It looks like Chelsea are now pushing hard to sign one of their young striker targets off the back of Armando Broja’s injury yesterday.
The club looked to have acted fast and are now trying to accelerate a summer transfer target, according to the very reliable David Ornstein, who has written some updates on his blog this morning in The Athletic.
Sources: Chelsea make contact to sign midfielder in January!
In fact, Ornstein writes that Chelsea are now advanced to sign 18-year-old striker Youssoufa Moukoko from Borussia Dortmund.
The extent of Broja’s injury is not yet know, but it looks like it could be a bad one. Chelsea wanted Moukoko before that anyway but were looking to get him as a free agent at the end of the season, when his current contract expires.
However, Ornstein believes that they are pushing now for him next month off the back of the Broja situation.

This would be a fantastic coup of Chelsea if they can pull it off.

Definitely need the cover if Broja is going to be out for a lengthy time. Not sure how practical it is to bring in a young, largely unproven, talent like Moukoko, but I guess we take what we can get.
Meanwhile, just read that none other than Emmanuel Petit believes Pulisic would be an excellent signing for Arsenal as cover for Jesus. Are Chelsea desperate enough to unload him that they would sell to cross-town rivals? The answer sure puts to the test how little the manager and supporters think of him.
