A surprise midfield target could emerge for the Blues

Chelsea are still trying to sign a midfielder before transfer deadline day however negotiations are proving to be difficult with both Brighton and Benfica for their players Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.

It is understood through various reliable sources that Chelsea are considering a whole heap of midfielders and a report from Football London gives an insight into a potential alternative to the Blues current top targets.

They state that Marcelo Brozovic could be an alternative solution, despite being 31 years old and not fitting into the age bracket of Todd Boehly’s rebuild, experience in the team is vital, especially if Jorginho is going to leave.

Chelsea were said to be interested in Brozovic in 2021, but no deal came to fruition. Football London cites La Gazetta dello sport in saying that Brozovic would cost interested clubs around 26 million pounds and that Chelsea are indeed one of the clubs showing a interest.
